Our mission is to help ‘build Jerusalem’ through promoting cultural democracy—culture for the many, not the few – not only in England, but throughout the world.
One of the ways we fulfil that mission is by publishing many lesser-known working-class writers of poetry and prose. So here are representative excerpts from the 100 books that we’ve published, selected by the poet Alan Morrison. All of the writing is distinguished by emotional vividness, intellectual ambition, and skilful literary technique.
