England is A Knife

England is A Knife

Knife bin in Chelsea, Source: Wikicommons

By Samuel Marshall

Brian Bilston wrote,
“America is a Gun
England is a cup of tea.”

Now England is a knife.

Daily news,
of young lives lost
to the blade.

Where are the people
protecting them?

Postcode wars
poverty wars
gang wars

A generation lost

We fear
the world
our children will grow up in

teenage soldiers
who see the streets
as a battle field

Oh, we wish
England was a cup of tea
But another life was taken yesterday,
and England is a knife.
