Wikicommons image of pro-Palestinian and anti-Israeli protest

By Willie Hershaw

Brekkin intae a fousty auld lock-up
and flingan a can o pent
ower some evil, pizzenous aeroplane o daith juist tae protest
has nou become a terrorist offence.
Supportin the tentfou folk wha flung the pent
means you can be puit in the jile for fowerteen years.

Deliberately shooting
intil a croud o stervin folk quietly
queuing for food is ok nou.
There micht be a terrorist hidin
amang they five hunner bairns and auld folk.
Protesting aboot this means you maist be anti-semitic
and care naethin for those murdered on 7 October. Aye richt!

Wha is it sells these weapons?
Wha is it wha chooses tae use them on innocent folk?
Wha is it wha twists these lees?
I hope tae live lang enough
tae see these war criminals staund in a dock
tae account for their murderous crimes.
Meanwhile I declare ma support for protesting
though they gie me fowerteen years for it.

So come on, you vile hypocrites:
Caa this a blood libel?
I caa you guilty of genocide.

Get aff your stupid phones people,

diversions and geegaws is whit they want.

You hae a richt, sae use it –

Protest! Protest! Protest!
