Damn Mouth

Damn Mouth

Mass starvation in Gaza. Image courtesy of Al Jazeera

By James O’Brien

Is this your damn mouth?
The horror faces abide,
By horror time in Nazi abysses,
Of jaundiced apartheid rhyme.
The self-enucleation,
The parody of the human,
Knowing there’s no way back.
The parched clack,
The discarded lives,
Serving the strange man,
With the bullets but no heart,
He flies a F35 without a soul,
A hag’s toothless snarl,
As he releases devils ordinance
Into a womb,
The hysterectomy of barren returns,
We can never forget in a cavalcade,
A cortege of remembrances,

A tawdry above of the diseased mind.
Hell is the starving child’s crushed jaw,
Ground to dust sand at the distribution place,
Where the tough guys take aim,
Joyless revels in a perverse shooting gallery,
Of hallucinatory vileness,
Zonked out on pride,
The fascist arrogance,
The bullying grandiosity
Of rendered impunity.
Is this your damn mouth?
An orifice history will stitch up,
Which will be filled with ordure
And the body parts,
Which brave mothers will gather up,
They will be counted,
Accounted for and prayed for
And buried hereafter.
Is this your damn mouth?
