By Alan Morrison
Peacefully protesting pensioners
Showing support for Palestine Action
In opposition to genocide
Placards packed up into backs of police vans
Arrested en masse
Suspended prison sentences
Of up to 14 years
Travestied as “terrorists”—
Hundreds of black-clad men in balaclavas
Marching through Dover
Chanting STOP THE BOATS
& ENGLAND TILL I DIE
Bringing the port to a halt
Intimidating locals
Given a police escort
No arrests made
Impunity passport—
Then the same again in Portsmouth
ENGLAND TILL I DIE
O TOMMY TOMMY
O TOMMO TOMMO—
& some even wade into the waters off
The capsizing dinghies, refugees
Thrashing about in the freezing sea
Rescued by lifeboat men
Some of whom are abused
By these masked vigilantes
(So proud of their patriotism
That they must hide their faces)
Who would much prefer to see
The refugees drown than reach
The shores of the Fatherland—

Pensioners again but a very different stripe
Clad in turquoise sweaters and t-shirts
Pledging support to Reform
Surround a young female protestor
Tug at her hair, tug at her head
One burley man covers her mouth
With his grappling hand
Hoists his orthopaedic stick as if to hit her,
& later does hit another young woman
In the middle of her back, knocking her to the floor—
“Oh boo hoo” says Robert Jenrick
Implying these “far left” activists
Deserve everything they get
Even if they’re young defenceless women
If they dare to heckle the Glorious Leader
As Farage laughs at his lectern
& hollers in his foghorn voice:
BORING BORING BORING
BOING BOING BOING
OH BOO HOO OH BOO HOO
O TOMMO O TOMMO O
PUT IT IN WITH A HOBNAILED BOOT
This is “the people’s army”
This is the NIMBY mob
Farage says that if he gains power
He’ll declare a state of emergency
On day one, martial law,
He’ll shore up our shores
Raise the drawbridge
Once and for all
England will again be
An island fortress in a silver sea—
Welcome to England 2026
Fascism’s come
& it has a silver rinse.
