the weather will kill people this week
but many of them would have died anyway
and we need weather more than people
who are vulnerable to changes in the climate
brought about by investors who gamble
on the price of extracting raw materials
and turning resources into weapons to visit
death upon civilians who barely have
two pennies to rub together so it’s no
great loss to finance or the institutions
which determine our chances of survival
beneath the sunny skies of capitalism
