A Prayer on the Historic Occasion of the Proscription as Terrorists –
by the LINO Government’s Home Secretary on Weds 2nd July 2025 –
of a Non Violent Direct Action Group (being Palestine Action, formed
in opposition to the Genocide of the Palestinian people), and the
Courts’ refusal to grant interim relief from same on Fri 4th July 2025.
(Luke 22.53; Matthew 28.2)
You looked the Enemy in the eye and spoke these words:
‘This is your hour and the power of darkness’
The hell hounds, the agents of wickedness,
momentarily unnerved, paused briefly to reflect,
wondering what you meant by it; what you
had up your sleeve this time. They’d seen how
you pleased the people, how they flocked to
join you, loved and admired you. Yet, still
seized inveterate of the belief in their own
invincibility, they deemed the strange saying
void of attainable resistance, reached again for
their comprehensive arsenal – stacked against your
unarmed righteousness – and smirked, relieved.
Every time I follow you through
this valley of the shadow, for myself
or with others, I remember it’s here
that the struggle is turned. This is
the Way. Right here, where the dark
places of the Earth teem with the
habitations of cruelty; here we must
walk to sweep away their devices;
to overturn their schemes.
May we, like your grieving friends
(who also we are) be granted strength
and courage. Faith to keep on to that place
where the angel sits serene on the
rolled-away stone, giving the foe the finger,
saying again, in no uncertain terms:
‘Spin on that, Mate. We’re done here.
