By Steve Pottinger

the red-faced man who has been drunk
all afternoon, who is only getting drunker,

louder, who looks more than a little
like a ventriloquist’s dummy

is declaring that we need to
Stock the goats! Stock the goats!

Perhaps he is passionate about
animal husbandry. Perhaps he only

speaks the words someone else puts
in his mouth, believing them his own.
